Example of a supervised PhD thesis:
The role of corporate culture in conceptualizing and implementing employer brands
The thesis is devoted to finding a theoretical deductive and empirically observable approach, to analyse the interaction between employer brands and the corporate culture and identity, respectively. The goal is to portray this dynamic, and therefore the author Andreas Mölk based his observations on socio – theoretical reflections. For the strived connection between actor- and institutional-theoretical perspective, he is consulting the “Strukturationstheorie” by Giddens (1979, 1984) which assumes a recursive context between individual actions and structures.
This is consequently transferred by the author to the problem being observed. Considering the organizational and individual levels, as well as the organization's internal and external specifics, this approach is delivering a comprehensive conceptualized model that is almost aligned with reality, and that additionally gives a fundamental understanding about the development of employer branding.
This Ph.D. thesis forms the basis for the project Employer Branding.
